Over at KOCO's website they post questions that offer sometimes multiple choice but more often simple yes/no answers. Topics range lately from NCAA sanctions against the Oklahoma Sooners to Paris Hilton to Scooter Libby.
Tonight's question, Do you think adultery should be against the law? is just sort of mystifying to me because I don't know the context of why it is asked.
I assume there is some so-called family values advocate in the Oklahoma State Legislature over-compensating for some guilt trip of his own involving several underage hookers. Or maybe the legislator become a cuckold to a wife who liked to blow his brother in the bathrooms of fast food restaurants.
...How perverse it can all get without genital contact in that regard, eh!?!
Anyway, I voted 'no' and submitted my answer to sadly find out I was in the minority opinion again.
I suppose the 'yes' voters are so supremely confident in their moral self control while still willing (perhaps, needing) to see their spouses hauled off to jail or fined for screwing around. Way to build love with a hammer!
But maybe they're motivated by something more malicious than insecurity though... the willingness to strip away the privacy of others just for an opportunity to point their fingers & gossip.
The people have already given the State the power to put its own citizens to death - what's a little bedroom spying?
I swear sometimes, Freedom is wasted on this country.

I don't think that people understand just what it really means to put someone and hold them in prison.
It's really a silly question, they don't want to ask the hard ones.
