Saturday

I spent the entire day inside the apartment. We got back late Friday night and I haven't been outside since. There's honestly no reason to go out.
Coming back from the country to this speed bump complex of stacked people-compartments is always a little disheartening. Here, outside the bedroom windows is a long ugly dirt bed that the stupid lawnmower guys will tear up, even after sad experience necessitates posting a goddamned sign in it with a subtle message like; FLOWERS -- PLEASE DON'T MOW.
Stupid fucking buzz-cut-happy yard guys. Oh well... but like I said, there's no reason to go out here. There's nothing to see.

Ahh, but in the woods, we saw and listened to wonderful things; crazy fungi that looked like coral, bright orange mushrooms, deer, fire flies, indigo buntings, raccoons, cardinals, snakes, lizards, squirrels, nut hatches, tit mice, kingfishers, summer tanagers, pileated woodpeckers, hummingbirds, musk rats, sunflowers, barred owls, chuck wills widows, perch, wasps, crickets, daddy long legs, scissor tail fly catchers, dragon flies, minnows, chickadees, june bugs, and yeah... ticks & mosquitoes.

I'm not saying the city doesn't have anything to offer, but I look forward to living closer to the wilderness again. The only thing is that we need to move in little over a month. How to look forward to something without seeing all the dreadful labor involved is going to be key to maintaining any sanity between now and middle August.
