Nine of Twelve

It's been a ridiculously hot summer in Oklahoma & I'm grateful to finally see September - as I imagine most people here are. "Exceptional drought" as the weathermen have called it, baked to dust in more triple digit days of extreme heat on record since they bothered noting records back in 1890.
Anyway it's been a disaster. I've heard it may not substantially rain again until October but as these goddamned brutally hot days are predicted on their way out within a week, I could just about dance naked in the street in celebration and I bet it could turn into a parade at that.
Afterwards, I think it would be wrong to just write off this moment as something people either survived or died during. There's no prize for pulling through the experience. Particularly if evidence of the extremes to the seasons continue to push beyond any remnants of incredulity. I'm not a scientist by any means but I put a lot more stock (faith, if you like) into what they think than all the whoring politicians in the world promising there's no connection between human activity and climate change.

But anyway... college football season starts. Boola boola.
