We have dumped Showtime and signed up for NetFlix & while I am going to miss The Tudors and all the slow-motion baby oil wrestling on The L Word, I really prefer deciding my own programming.
With that in mind, I was pleased to find the "Top Ten Dystopian Future Films Telling Us to Act Now!" through Huffington Post.
As someone who cherishes chaos and disaster, I have seen eight of these movies though I am not real inclined to see Fahrenheit 451 & I think watching THX 1138 is an endurance contest for anyone who prefers subtleties.
I also feel that The Road Warrior belongs on the list as much as any of them for exploring the theme of oil dependency in a desolate area of the world not considered worth nuking in the apocalyptic war that made it one of humanity's last habitable refuges. I wrote that whole sentence without a comma - sorry about that.
