Waiting for my ride with cart full of sacks in the shade of the grocery store while I watched the parking lot.
One woman shopping wearing high heels tugging her daughter along.
Another child walking by asking her mother to tell her what everything was and their functions. Feeding the hunger of a burgeoning mind. Fantastic.
Bakers savoring cigarettes in the heat still crowding the shade.
Beaten faces and dyed hair.
Tee Shirt advertisements and red white & blue.
Stuffing bills and recipts into wallets and purses.
Avoiding eye contact, avoiding small talk, avoiding acknowledgement.
Walking, running, limping.
Answering cell phones.
The employees collecting shopping carts into long trains and pushing them to the entrance, pushing them like Sisyphus watching the mountain grow taller as the rocks tumble.
Madness if you're not careful.
